# Activating the wallet

After installing the MDAO Wallet app, you can proceed to activate the MDAO KeyWallet hardware wallet. 

Open the MDAO Wallet app on your phone. Tap on "Connect Hardware Wallet".

Then proceed to activate the wallet via "Activate MDAO KeyWallet".

Click on the "Start Verification" button and bring the card to the top of your phone to read the NFC as indicated on the phone's screen until an on-screen notification of successful scanning appears.

MDAO KeyWallet is activated, please wait for the main menu data to load.
